A 23 line inscription of Buddhist emperor Kanishka written in Bactrian language and Greek script was found in 1993 from a place called Rabatak in Afghanistan. The inscription contains the names of emperor Kanishka's great grandfather, grandfather and father, and also the name of Kanishka himself. It mentions the names of six major cities of India, one of which is Saket. Saket was a city of high standing during Kanishka's time. The name of Saket in the inscription is written as "Zageda". In Bactrian language, S changes to Z. The Zageda in Kanishka's inscription is the same as Sageda in Ptolemy's geography and the Sageda in Ptolemy's geography is the same as Saket in Pali literature.
