great patriot bina das In 1986,

great patriot bina das

In 1986, in the month of December, an orphan dead body was found in a ditch in Rishikesh, which was completely decomposed. After further investigation, it was found that she was Binadas, a great patriot, who was a student of Calcutta University.

This was the same Binadas who had fired on Bengal Governor Jackson, who was a very bad British officer. After this, Binadas was arrested and sent to jail for 9 years, and after about 9 years he was released.

Immediately after his release, Das participated in the Quit India Movement in 1942 and was then arrested and sent to jail from 1942 to 1945.

She married freedom fighter Jyotish Bhowmik in 1947, but continued participating in the freedom struggle.  After the death of her husband, she left Calcutta and started living in a small ashram in Rishikesh, away from the eyes of the world. To earn her living, she used to teach tuition to children and also did a job of Rs 25 in a private school, but she did not join the government.  Refused to take the freedom fighter pension given by the Government of India.

We should be ashamed that the end of this brave woman who dedicated herself for the country was very tragic.  The great freedom fighter, Professor Satyavrat Ghosh, in one of his articles,

His poignant death is written about in "Flashback: Bina Das - Reborn".

 He said,

"He ended his life on the roadside.

His dead body was in a very disfigured state.

People passing by found his body. The police were informed and after months of searching, they found out that the body was that of Binadas.  All this happened in the same independent India for which this fire girl had put everything at stake.  Remembering this poignant story, the country should salute this great freedom fighter of ours, even if late.
