Indian soldiers in Haifa during the First World War, in which the army of the princely state of Jodhpur also took part on the British side. In history, this battle is known as the Battle of Haifa. The Battle of Haifa was fought on 23 September 1918. In this battle, the army of Rajputana was led by Major Dalpat Singh, the commander of Jodhpur state, he was born in Ravana Rajput family in Deoli village of present Pali district. The British ordered the army of Jodhpur state to capture Haifa. As soon as the order was received, the commander of Jodhpur state, Dalpat Singh, directed his army to attack the enemy. After which this army of Rajasthani warriors moved forward to destroy the enemy and capture Haifa. But then the British came to know that the enemy had guns and machine guns while the army of Jodhpur state was going to fight on horses with swords and spears. For this reason the British ordered the army of Jodhpur state to return. But Dalpat Singh, the commander of the princely state of Jodhpur, said that there is no custom for us to return here. We the warriors who after entering the battlefield either achieve victory or attain martyrdom. On the other hand, this army was fighting bravely in the face of guns, cannons and machine guns with its traditional war style to achieve victory over the enemy. In this battle, about nine hundred soldiers of the Jodhpur army were martyred. The outcome of the war wrote an immortal history. Which had not been seen anywhere in the entire world till date. Because this war was the only war in the world which took place between swords and guns.
But finally Vijayashree Rathore was found and he captured Haifa and the four hundred year old Ottoman Empire came to an end. Impressed by the bravery of Ranbanka Rathore, the Commander-in-Chief of the British Army in India built a residential building for himself by the name of Flag-Staff House. The building is built adjacent to a crossroads, in the middle of this crossroads there are statues of three soldiers facing in three directions on the side of a pillar in the middle of the roundabout. Which was made to memorialize the bravery of Ranbanka Rathore.
