After meeting Chandrababu Naidu in Rajahmundry prison, the JSP chief once more appeals to the BJP to join the opposition's "terrific coalition" against the YSRCP. With only seven months until the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, K Pawan Kalyan, an actor turned lawmaker and the leader of the Jana Sena Party (JSP), announced on Thursday that his party would form an alliance with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) to challenge the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), which is led by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, in the polls.
After meeting TDP leader and former boss N Chandrababu Naidu in the Rajahmundry Concentration Facility, Kalyan told press he believed the BJP will also join their alliance against the YSRCP.
Naidu has been incarcerated since after being detained by the state police as a result of his alleged involvement in a "trick" that the TDP has dubbed a "political quarrel" and which Boss Pastor Jagan is rumored to have leaked.
Following Naidu's arrest, Andhra Pradesh's political climate has warmed up in preparation for the synchronized state party elections and the Lok Sabha elections set for April–May 2024.
"Today, I made the decision that JSP and TDP would compete together in the 2024 contests. We cannot defeat YSRCP on our own. I insisted that the BJP should support me in my conflict with the YSRCP. Actually, I have faith that the BJP will support us. BJP has not made a decision, but I remain incredibly confident instead," Kalyan remarked.
He was joined by actor N Balakrishna, a TDP MLA from Hindupur, and TDP general secretary N Lokesh Naidu, a son of Chandrababu Naidu. I was given this freedom by my boss priest, Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, so that I could meet Lokesh Naidu and Balakrishna. Andhra Pradesh cannot stand for YSRCP to be the ruling party. Together, the TDP and JSP will fight it,'' Kalyan said.

Kalyan and the TDP founders spent some time with Naidu in the prison. The state CID arrested Naidu from Nandyal early on Saturday last week in connection with the alleged multi-crore AP State Expertise Improvement Company scam involving his administration's residence from 2014 to 2019. On Sunday night, a Vijayawada Enemy of Debasement Department (ACB) court sentenced Naidu to 14 days of legal authority.
Following court orders, he was transferred to Rajahmundry Focal Prison, 200 kilometers from Vijayawada.
The Andhra Pradesh High Court announced on Wednesday the hearing on Naidu's appeal seeking to suppress the FIR filed against him in this alleged scam on September 19. The high court instructed the CID to document its response to this matter. On September 18, the high court also held a consultation regarding the CID's appeal for Naidu to be placed under guardianship as well as Naidu's request for anticipatory bail in response to yet another charge against him related to alleged irregularities in the Amaravati internal ring street development issue.

Kalyan has been advocating for the Resistance's "great coalition" against the government, even though his party is currently an NDA partner led by the BJP.
The saffron party was encouraged to join the TDP-JSP merger in this way by Jagan's long-term allocation.
The TDP abruptly departed the NDA in 2018 ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, citing the BJP-run government for ignoring Andhra Pradesh and refusing to grant it a special status.Kalyan acknowledges that the formidable alliance made up of the TDP, JSP, and BJP would have an advantage over the sizeable YSRCP. The BJP, which was initially averse to cooperating with the TDP, seemed to have warmed to Kalyan's proposal but has continued to express caution about it.
When he was welcomed into the NDA on July 18, the JSP chief pressed for the proposal once more.taking place in New Delhi. He spoke with key BJP figures, including as Association Home Clergyman Amit Shah and others, and urged them to support the TDP as well in the 2024 elections.
