Livingstone 95* bowlers assist Britain with evening out series in downpour abbreviated challenge

Trent Boult took three early wickets in his 100th ODI, leaving Britain 8 for 3 in supportive bowling conditions. When Livingstone left at No. 7, they had also slipped to 55 for 5 and were facing a fourth successive white-ball rout. Livingstone, with Moeen Ali and Sam Curran, helped Britain up to a cutthroat aggregate. He started consistently before confining Tim Southee as the failure point in New Zealand's attack, but was unable to hop from 91 to three figures off the last two.

Despite his sketchy structure this mid-year, Livingstone's overall capacity and eminent IPL record mean there has never been any genuine uncertainty of his spot in Britain's Reality Cup team. This was his longest innings in worldwide cricket and his most notable in a success.

New Zealand lost Finn Allen to the second part of their pursuit, fortified by David Willey, but looked on course at 111 for 3. Reece Topley took three wickets in eight balls in his second spell to finish with 3 for 27, as New Zealand collapsed, losing their last seven wickets for 36.

Boult, who has been playing global cricket interestingly since last year's T20 World Cup, caused early harm for Britain. His new-ball spell showed why he was invited back in the following month's Reality Cup.

Daryl Mitchell led New Zealand to a 100th ODI wicket, with Livingstone hitting 17 runs off an over, three boundaries for four balls. Curran, playing his most memorable game since the Hundred Last, hit sixes for both left-arm spinners Santner and Rachin Ravindra. Livingstone scored his 100th ODI wicket, but Curran fell short, and Mitchell trampled on the limit toblerone while trying a catch off Willey.

Allen struggled in the first over but was fortified by Willey. Gus Atkinson bowled a brilliant first spell, but Devon Conway was eventually run-out. Mitchell kept New Zealand on track, adding 56 with Tom Latham. However, Topley's second spell changed the game, with Latham chasing a wide one, Phillips bowling, and Ravindra slipping. Mitchell then miscued a full throw to mid-off, giving Moeen his 100th ODI wicket. Willey took three wickets, leaving Britain in the afternoon.
