Tantyan Tope

This picture is of immortal martyr Tantyan Tope ji.  When he was in British custody, an English photographer took this picture.  Tatya Tope disappeared from Gwalior after the martyrdom of Rani of Jhansi in 1858.  After which the British announced a reward of Rs 10,000 on him.

Tatya Tope was continuing his fight against the British even secretly.  Meanwhile, he also lived among the tribals.

Meanwhile, when Tatya Tope was in the forest of Shivpuri near Gwalior, he met Raja Mansingh of Narwar.  Where both of them became friends.  Mansingh took great care of Tatya Tope.  Tatya Tope trusted him but Mansingh informed the British about him.

It was the day of April 7, 1869 when Tatya Tope was caught and brought to Shivpuri.  Tatya Tope was hanged just ten days later on 18th April in Sipri village located there.

On the stone on which Tatya Tope was hanged, the British got it written, "Here on April 18, 1859, the infamous Tatya Tope was hanged."

In this way, a great revolutionary had to lose his life because of the betrayal of a king of his own country.
